Join our parade of elephants this summer and explore Luton like never before!
Meet the elephantastic herd of organisations, sponsoring the Big Trunk Trail.
The Big Trunk Trail showcases local and nationwide talent.
Elephant calves, designed by local schools and community groups will join the trail!
Get ready! This July, The Big Trunk Trail arrives in town – the biggest, most unique outdoor public art event Luton’s ever seen. Over 30 vibrant, beautifully decorated elephants will trumpet along a free, fun, family-friendly art trail around the town’s key landmarks.
This fantastic event is being brought to Luton by Keech Hospice Care to celebrate its 30th anniversary and say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the charity’s work over the years.
Each large sculpture is sponsored by a business and individually designed by an artist. On Saturday 10 July 2021, the elephants will parade into Luton – before leaving on Friday 8 October 2021. You’ll be able to #SpotTheElephant and see your favourite sculptures one last time at one of our final farewell events on 23–31 October 2021 and 2-9 November 2021 at Herd HQ. After this, the legacy of The Big Trunk Trail continues as at least 30 large elephants will be auctioned on 11 November 2021 to raise vital funds for Keech Hospice Care.
#JoinTheHerd and share in the excitement by keeping up to date with the latest news on The Big Trunk Trail’s social media channels, using @BigTrunkTrail. Don’t forget to #SpotTheElephant!
