Join our parade of elephants this summer and explore Luton like never before!
Meet the elephantastic herd of organisations, sponsoring the Big Trunk Trail.
The Big Trunk Trail showcases local and nationwide talent.
Elephant calves, designed by local schools and community groups will join the trail!
The Big Trunk Trail is the biggest, brightest outdoor public art event Bedfordshire has ever seen. Over 70 vibrant, beautifully decorated elephants have turned out to trumpet along a free, fun, family-friendly art trail around Luton’s parks and landmarks this summer.
This fantastic event is being brought to the town by Keech Hospice Care to celebrate its 30th anniversary and say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the charity’s work over the years.
The elephants step into their designated trail positions on Saturday 10 July 2021 and will be in town until Friday 9 October 2021, providing an abundance of opportunities to #SpotTheElephant, #TakeAnElphie, and make lots of happy memories with loved ones. There will be a final chance to view the elephants en masse at ticketed farewell events at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo (22–28 October) and Stockwood Discovery Centre (30 October – 7 November).
Adding to the Big Trunk Trail experience is the opportunity to take your favourite elephant home. Download the Keech Connect App to collect animated versions of the elephants as you spot them, or better yet, bid on the real thing at The Big Trunk Trail Charity Auction on 11 November. The auction will retire the 32 adult sculptures to forever homes whilst raising vital funds for Keech Hospice Care.
#JoinTheHerd and share in the excitement by keeping up to date with the latest news on The Big Trunk Trail’s social media channels, using @BigTrunkTrail. Don’t forget to #SpotTheElephant!
