We invited groups to #JoinTheHerd.
It’s set to be the jumbo community event of the summer!
For 13 weeks in the summer, Luton’s set to see a perfect parade as The Big Trunk Trail arrives in town. Dazzling elephant sculptures will form the biggest and most unique outdoor public art event Luton’s ever seen, and we invited community groups to be part of the fun too!
Joining the stunningly designed giant elephants will be at least 30 baby elephants. Our herd of Big Trunk Trail elephant calf sculptures will be uniquely decorated by community groups and schools and will be on display at a high-profile indoor location in Luton town centre, showcasing their amazing creativity to local people and visitors.
At the end of the unforgettable jumbo event, each elephant calf will go back to its forever home with its creator group or school.
We can’t wait to see the dazzling designs from our herd! See who’s involved below.
If you haven’t already, sign up to The Big Trunk Trail newsletter for all the latest updates.

In communities worldwide, Rotary and Rotaract members work side by side to take action through service. Rotaract clubs bring together young people, aged 18-30, to work together on exchanging ideas with leaders in their community, developing leadership and professional skills as well as fundraising, volunteering and having fun through service. From big cities to rural villages, Rotaract is changing communities like yours. The Rotaract values are fellowship, diversity, integrity, leadership and being committed to service.
Girlguiding Bedfordshire empower girls, we give them space to grow no matter what their background or ability. We are a charity that wants girls across the county to participate in our fun packed programme.
More than 2500 girls already meet regularly as Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers. Through fun, friendship, challenge and adventure we empower girls to find their voice, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and to make a positive difference in their community.
Guiding is so much more than an after-school activity or a way for girls to spend an evening. We give girls a space just for them to be themselves.
